You are assured a real camping experience at Camp Bagi living in tents on a lovely beach front amidst lush green Himalayan forests in the western part of Uttarakhand, Jaunsar Bawar region on the banks of the Tons river. Camp Bagi lies 2 kms from Mori village on the road leading to Tiuni.
Only 410 kms from Delhi, the Camp is located 3500 ft above sea level and this area is rich in every type of western Himalayan flora and fauna, densely forested with deodar, pine, alpine oak, birch, chestnut, rhododendron and jamun.
The Tons river (the biggest tributary of the Yamuna with its source in the snowfields of the 20,720 ft high mountain, Bandarpunch) is a small volume, Class 4 river, which offers an excellent adrenaline rush and adds to the excitement of being in the outdoors.
White water rafting trips come in a number of different guises. Which one you choose largely depends on your experience, fitness and levels of gung-ho. For the Warriors Path, the Tons river gives the best mix of all that is required for your personal transformation. It’s adrenaline filled Nintendo rafting! You will have the time of your life. It’s a demanding river with Class 4 rapids and requires your full awareness.
Rapids are graded from Class I to Class VI depending on the degree of difficulty they present in successfully manoeuvring a whitewater raft through it.
Grade 1: Relax and chill out.
Grade 2: Keep an eye open for small waves.
Grade 3: This will be fun – tighten your lifejackets and helmets.
Grade 4: Getting serious; paddle well or you could end up swimming.
Grade 5: Don’t mess up – this is the hardest stuff you can raft.
Grade 6: If you are told you are rafting grade 6, your guide is lying – this is suicide!!
Rafting is one of the safest adventure activities you can take part in, as long as you are with a professional operator. The river trip will beguided by competent and experienced guides with at least five years of experience on theTons river. In addition, all safety gear like lifejackets, helmets, foot braces etc. are provided for. River guides are trained in First Aid and C.P.R and can handle minor injuries directly on site.
The Tons river is a shallow, fast flowing river known for its “nintendo rafting”. The venue has been designed keeping in mind the non-swimmers as well. A comprehensive safety briefing is given every time before you are close to the river. Moreover, the ability to swim is not a consideration when you go down a whitewater river.
You need only your shorts, T-shirts, a pair of strap-on sandals, sunscreen and your sense of humour on the Warrior’s Path. And an openness to being open. We will email you a list of the packing list once you have registered?
Rafts and accessories used for river rafting are imported and are made of tear-resistant nylon based hypalon. Wearing helmets with chin straps fastened and life-jacket is mandatory which keep the person’s head above water in the not-so-common event of MOB (Man-Over-Board). Water-proof bags are kept aboard the raft for keeping cameras on the trip. Every raft also carries rescue bags and flip lines to counter any emergency.
We use self-bailing `Hyside’ rafts and accessories from Northwest River Supplies (NRS), Idaho, U.S.A for our rafting trips. Every raft will carry a repair kit and a first-aid kit in order to make the run completely self contained. A safety briefing is given to everyone before the river run commences which outlines everything from the nature of the river and what to expect, to paddling commands and safety procedures to remember while in white-water.
Participants must be in good health and reasonable physical condition. You must train your shoulders and legs. Walking and pushups is what we recommend for the Warrior’s Path. Obviously you are free to choose your own exercise regime. If you decide to walk, as an exercise, try to clock 9.5 minutes per kilometer.
Of Course, heart patients, vascular patients or any other serious ailments are an impediment. Expecting mothers should avoid coming on the Warrior’s Path as it requires a lot of physical endurance.
It is vital that participants with medical problems make them known to us well before departure. If you suffer from severe muscular, chest, heart or bronchial disorders, or if you are a severe asthmatic, or have high blood pressure, you should exercise caution.
Warrior’s Path generally takes place in remote areas where there is little or no access to normal medical services or hospital facilities for serious problems. Where necessary, evacuation can be prolonged, difficult and expensive. Medical and evacuation expenses will be the responsibility of the participant.

The Warrior’s Path is an intra-awareness program. This is why we take you to exceptional, truly off-the-beaten-track places in the mountains, where nature, tranquility and good food create a safe space for personal reflection and a genuine break from the everyday hustle and bustle.
As we will be in one of the most pristine environments, we may not bind ourselves with the rigidity of timings. A lot will emerge, a lot will change and we will all honour what emerges. There is a lot of power in “allowing” rather than the forceful “trying”.
