Women in Leadership

“It’s not about individual women; it’s about a system.”
– Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Our award-winning Women in Leadership program has been designed to enhance female talent in areas of personal and business acumen in an extremely comprehensive manner that takes into consideration different stages of their career trajectory be it entry-level, mid-management or senior/C-suite leadership roles.

AREAS OF FOCUS

The program is carefully curated for each level keeping in mind the skills and capacities required for the role and desired learning and development outcomes, thereby ensuring both personal and professional transformations that make female talent feel seen, heard and supported in their organisations.

The 50% PARADOX Which May be Further Exacerbated By the COVID-19 Situation

Across most ’emerging’ markets and many ‘developed’ countries, we are facing a unique paradox, where we are losing 50% of the female workforce at every step of career transition. This is a significant lost opportunity for employers, the female workforce and the labour market. In addition to a lack of representation at senior levels, women are greatly under-represented in core business and technical roles across most industries and organisations. While it is early days to fully assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gender balance, this paradox is expected to be further exacerbated and accelerated, resulting in more women losing their jobs or opting out of formal employment during and after the pandemic.

Alongside women in leadership programs, Syngrity recommends that organisations engage with We-Lead – our DEI solution designed to create a culture of inclusion, allyship and sensitization around diversity in the workplace. In fact, We-Lead is an ideal program to pursue alongside women in leadership learning journeys to align the expectations of upskilled female talent and the larger ecosystem in which they work. We strongly believe that inclusion is a shared responsibility, and all employees have a role to play in creating an inclusive work environment.

OUR RECENT WORKSHOPS

Syngrity ventured into interior Maharashtra, to conduct a transformative workshop for @Laxmi Organics Industries in Mahad. Our methodology? The power and outreach of Theatre! We staged ‘Zara Aikaa’ (Please Listen), a Marathi Street play, spotlighting Gender Diversity and Inclusion. Centered around the theme of Acceptance, Respect, and Boundary (Sweekar, Sanman, Seema), the play spotlighted and showcased Laxmi Organics’ commitment to gender diversity and inclusion. Led by our master facilitator and performance director, Monica Mahendru, each show ended with a debrief, sparking reflection on the importance of inclusive workplaces. Covering over 500 employees through 9 performances, over a span of 3 days, the workshop was hugely successful in its endeavor to remind the audience of the importance of an inclusive environment in the workplace. Big shoutout to Laxmi Organics and their team for the hospitality and support extended to us and, more importantly, for walking the talk when it comes to enhancing workplace culture.

Team Syngrity descended from a neighbourhood galaxy into the headquarters of Laxmi Organic Industries Ltd to perform a play around the theme of Gender, Diversity & Inclusion in the workplace. The Premise of the Play? An extraterrestrial visitor lands on earth on a mission to secure a job here. Eager to learn the ropes, our Alien attends a grooming school, only to encounter complex dynamics that women navigate in the professional realm. The play ended with a detailed debrief by our master facilitator and performance director Monica Mahendru sparking reflection on unconscious biases in the workplace and the need for building a gender-inclusive culture. The key takeaways of the performance were the 3Ss – Sweekar, Sanman, Seema (Acceptance, Respect, and Boundaries) in the workplace and truly showcased Laxmi Organics’ commitment to gender diversity and inclusion. Big shoutout to Laxmi Organics and their team for the hospitality and support extended to us and, more importantly, for walking the talk when it comes to enhancing D&I in the workplace.
